Frequently Asked Questions
Typically a half hour lesson is appropriate for young beginner students. You can always switch to a longer lesson in the future if you prefer to cover more materials or speed up your progress. Your instructor will give you a headsup when you are ready for longer lesson.
Yes.
If you are a beginner you do not need any books for your first lesson. After your first lesson your instructor will tell you what books you will need to purchase and where you can purchase them. If you are an intermediate or advanced student, then bring any books you have studied before with you to the first lesson.
We offer lessons on a weekly basis because your instructor needs to be able to check and correct your form on a weekly basis. If you wait two weeks between lessons then you may be performing certain tasks incorrectly and reinforcing a bad habit.
The music school offers one or two recitals a year and the dates will be announced. Different music instructors will have different recital dates.
In one month you really don’t have enough time to give your lesson a fair try. We encourage you to take lesson for at least a semester. It takes some time to learn how to create a nice sound from the instrument and really be able to enjoy it.
Yes, if you have one available with you. If you do not have one, our instructor will recommend a suitable one for you later.
